Saint Paul MN - Sister Celeste at the Celeste Hotel

 

Not sure what we signed up for but we had a wonderful evening at the Celeste Hotel with Sister Celeste and friends with SINGO and sing along.

Stillwater MN - Thanksgiving 2022...almost like old times

 

Our first full on family/friends Thanksgiving since 2019.  Got a nice warm day - a bit of fog but great roads so everyone was able to make the trip. 

We were about 20 one side or the other.  Plenty of food, laughs and conversation to make for a memorable day.   New baby Rhea was the star of the day for sure.

Saint Paul MN - Slick walk week

 

Most of the walking this week involved avoiding the slick spots.  There is just enough snow around to melt a bit every day and muck up the sidewalks.  One slide to the ground but otherwise stayed upright - and caught another new mural in the neighborhood. 

Los Angeles CA - Back at LAX

 

It all started here with an ill-fated trip and turned up to be its own great adventure and learning experience.  I ran in to lots of great people from both California and around the world along the way that led to lots of conversation, sharing and laughs.  And got a whole lot smarter along the way as well - got some geography and even history lessons.  

And one last sunny morning on the way out - sounds like amazing winds are coming in after my plane gets out of here.....

Winter has finally arrived back in Minnesota so even though it has been cooler than normal here, will be totally normal when I land at home.   

Santa Barbara CA - A sunrise walk on the beach

Almost the end of a great adventure and another walk along the Pacific Ocean as the sun rises.  Found this great spot a couple blocks off the beach that made for a great spot to take in the beach and the city as well.  

Another interesting city that I have heard so much about but never gotten to visit.  Has been interesting to see that everywhere I have traveled there is a struggle to get life back to the center.  There are spots or hints of things happening but then there is all the quiet and lurking surrounding it.  

But the beach was full of walkers, bikers swimmers and even a few fisherman.  

Santa Barbara CA - Up to the Mission and then back to the Sea

 

Got my walk in and saw more of the city and then back down along the beach with everyone else on a cool, sunny Sunday afternoon.  

Ran in to several fun people along the way and shared some stories and laughs.  A great dinner and a chat with a couple women in from CT - just down the road from my sister.
