Stillwater MN - Easter Sunday 2011 and the sun finally came out

 

Finally a beautiful sunny spring day. And what could be better that to be on the lake enjoying the sun and all the conversation.
We got a slow start with the Spring Festival and ongoing parties at Mac yesterday. But filled the day once we got going. Danny and Davide gave Maria a bit of a canoe ride on the lake. And we checked out Stillwater and a few miles of Wisconsin before heading home.
First bbq of the new year for me. Ready for many more days like today and the warmer ones that follow.

Saint Paul MN - it's back....more snow

No bike ride on Saturday. We woke up to snow on the ground once again. We jumped another notch to the 4th most snow in Twin Cities history. Lucky us.
Rumor has it more on the way this week....

Saint Paul - the 2011 biking season begins

We didn't get sun but we got 50 degrees. We had 10 for our first ride of the 2011 season - and we got 20 miles in for a starter ride!

Goodhue MN - Another Nixon Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Greg's birthday a bit later this year but it appears we waited so it was part of a beautiful spring like day and evening.
Our numbers were smaller but the food and celebration was as stellar as always!

St Louis Missouri - the mid-Mississippi

In Saint Paul the Mississippi is roaring over the banks. Down river it is quietly flowing in anticipation of the surge coming this direction.
The Arch is more than you could ever expect it to be - WOW! A shrine built for the sake of a shrine...but then aren't they all.
It has been years since I was last in St Louis. It reminds me of my first visit back to Philadelphia after many many years - a wonderful surprise and a place I want to be around and spend time enjoying.
It was also opening day for the baseball team so the fountains were flowing red and there was activity and people throughout the downtown area.
