New York City - Again. Mixing with the protests

I was walking home from dinner along 6th Avenue after the Ferguson announcement and all of a sudden the street filled with marchers working their way to Times Square.
They stopped traffic and filled both the streets and sidewalks.  It was all calm and friendly - but certainly very focused.  And the traffic just all seemed to go with the flow - and then the police cars started coming in from all directions.
They were caught in the traffic snarl that was created as well and eventually just went with the flow and followed the marchers and the slow traffic up to Times Square and Central Park.
The following night we headed to a show and got out and on our way before the activities began again and they blocked our route out - but we were well on our way and watched it all on the news when we got back to Stamford CT.

New Jersey - hanging with Christopher and Lara

We covered Sandy Hook, Long Branch, Monmouth Beach and then on up to Jersey City.  Lots of movement and plenty of things to keep up busy hanging out with Chris and Lara.
The weekend started out cold and crisp and then it warmed right up and we all lost our coats and got out to enjoy a couple great days.

New York City - cold start to the trip

I arrived and it woke me right up - much colder than usual for this time of year.  Rumor has it that it is going to heat right up over the weekend before we get messy weather for everyone to travel for the holiday.
Macy's is busy getting ready at the store for the parade and the holiday shopping ahead - the neighborhood I stayed in this trip.

Hong Kong - a bit more Christmas fever setting in

Heading back to the USA for the Thanksgiving Week.
Ready for Christmas in HK as I set off on the flight to the East Coast.

Hong Kong - Lovely Sunday

Great day - lots of sun and just enough heat and humidity.......it never really goes away.
Lots of people out enjoying the day - and that just adds that many more to all of us already out!
And we are almost ready for Christmas here as well - without Thanksgiving you can get ready to go so much early in a big way.

Melbourne Australia - Starting to work Christmas as well

Always a sense of Saint Paul when I arrive in Melbourne - the river is the key driver to that experience.  They engage it so much better than we have figured out how to do.  Imagine having places to sit and enjoy on the river in the heart of the city......
And it is also beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here.
Solid work day and great evening with friends enjoying the wonders of Melbourne.

Sydney Australia - Jacaranda time and holiday season too

I remember when I first arrived 20 years ago when the Jacaranda's bloomed.  It was amazing.  I used to walk in a few spots that every tree was a beautiful lavender bloom.
For Minnesotans it would feel much like lilac season but it is whole trees and streets and streets full of them.

And of course we are moving in to the summer season so tomorrow is going to be 90F plus.  But that doesn't mean that the Christmas holidays are not far behind.

A totally unique perspective to do spring to summer at the same time you get out all the wonders of a Western European Christmas happening as well.....
