Saint Paul - Halloween 2010

Millie never should have invited me to come over for Halloween all those years ago.  I keep coming back and I bring others with me.
Petar's first USA Halloween.  DQ always had stories to tell.  We had good numbers - over 140 came to the door.  Mary wandered in late with Hungarian to share and Evan learned the secret to the Rubik's cube.  And Millie pondered the value in engaging in some "military style" winter fitness class.
A perfect evening!

Saint Paul - the rain finally arrives

After 28 days of sun and no moisture, they threatened a rainy weekend and it did arrive...but not until a 3 of us got in a ride on Saturday morning.
The rain and wind have cleared most of what was left of leaves on the trees - but there are a few spots here and there that still provide a bit of a fall show.
And it sounds like we will get our first bit of below normal weather later this week.

Saint Paul - another above normal October weekend...so got in another ride

The weather continues to cooperate.
Not only warmer than normal but after flood inducing storms in September we have seen no rain and now are in the midst of the driest month in history.
It started a bit cool on Saturday...Carly was claiming the temperature was at her age when she arrived - no doubt her car temp gauge was cooperating to get her out for a ride......a few others have seemed to already gone in to hibernation for the biking season.
We even had a new spot to stop along the route - great treats and coffee!

Saint Paul - DQ turns 21.

Danny Qu turned 21 on 10.10.10.  Must be something special or at least lucky about that.
We ended a great October weekend by bringing together the Mac guys and the available nieces and nephews.
Petar and I gave our first attempt at a Serbian dessert.  We finished it off but we need to do practice another time or two to get it right.  I think we lost something in the translation from Serbian to English and converting from metric - but we still finished it all off!
And how often do you get sung the Happy Birthday Song in multiple languages all at the same time!

Saint Paul - Celebrating the new kitchen, upcoming retirements and life

We have moved on from "shut up Lorne" to "shut up Dennis". And the NoDak and Cannuck continued your "border battles". So it was a great night to once again break in the new Klauda kitchen and engage in lively debate and many many laughs.

Saint Paul - Record temps, on the warm side. What more can you ask in October!

A week ago we had on winter hats and gloves for the bike ride and this week it was shorts and sunscreen - so goes fall in Minnesota.
We got in 30 plus miles...thought we better take advantage of the great day and the end of the fall colors.  Hopefully, a few more rides await us before the snow.

Twin Cities Marathon - Year 29

I moved to Saint Paul the first year of the Twin Cities Marathon and we all got out and took it in.  Today was number 29 and was sunny but crisp day to get out and enjoy it.
And after a break Mary ran again.  When I caught up with her between mile 19 and 20 she was moving so well I could only catch her racing on past me - probably best if she didn't have her lipstick on...
