A bit of ice along Lake Michigan from the waves hitting a bit of the sidewalk from time to time but otherwise the sidewalks and streets are as clear as can be. Makes for easy walking. And another day above freezing despite the clouds.
Always enjoy wandering through the old brownstone neighborhoods of Chicago. Loved them in the 70s and still find them beautiful and fascinating.
No sun, but it is above freezing and there is not a spot of snow or ice anywhere as far as I can see or wander. Not a bad thing for the second half of January in the north.
The weather finally passed and the morning brought 45 and sunny - another great winter day in the north. Unfortunately, I am moving on but got to take it in for a bit before heading out.
An all day rain storm that just kept coming. Water everywhere and pooled up in ponds on most streets. Lots of grey and gloom - and the snow is not that far away. The wonders of 40F+.
And a nice warm up enjoying dinner with Long and getting caught up on the exciting life he lives in NYC.
The chance came up and off I went to NYC for a short visit. Sunny and 50+ for two days isn't bad at all. I used to make this trip at this time of year for 7 years - usually the coldest, snowiest and just outright nasty time to be here. Not this year.
