Minneapolis - Karen's birthday dinner

We are so glad that Karen got herself moved to the Twin Cities. Now we get together to celebrate Jane and my birthday in February and we get to do it again to celebrate Karen's in March.
We have been friends forever.....high school and college stories we can't share on here. Every get together always includes great moments from our Winona State/St Teresa's days and leaves us laughing. And lots of great history since.

Saint Paul - Dawit the patient

Spring break is over.
Surgery complete and Dawit is on the mend.
Katy is getting ready to move to the next apartment.
John is apartment hopping among friends and hitting the books.
And it still hasn't snowed one time in the month of March....could be history making if we make until the end of the month.

Goodhue Minnesota - Greg Nixon - another birthday

Beautiful day. Wonderful hosts. Outstanding food. Lots of interesting, and often colored, conversations. After 36 years of practice we are all getting pretty good at this evening.
And Mary had new boots and had the urge to sing...always something new to the mix....and that accordion too.

Goodhue MN - Greg's birthday...the videos. OH MY!

Mary wanted to sing. Need I say anything more.

Saint Paul - the day before the flood crest

Drove by the Mississippi today and near downtown Saint Paul could see how high the water really was - higher tomorrow.
Pictures don't really show the change but some pretty good views of the city - despite the final grey gloom of winter. Enjoy!

NE Minneapolis - Mary is in for a visit

Mary came from Seattle for one of her regular visits. An evening of great laughs and plenty of good food in NE Minneapolis. She is getting back out before the cool and snowy weekend arrives.

March 17 - Saint Patricks Day in Saint Paul

It couldn't have been a more picture perfect day. Warm and sunny....so all the Irish and everyone else made their way to the streets of St Paul and got the celebrating started early.
I have never been quite sure what the rules of being in the parade as opposed to being on the sidelines but it all seems to work and has been going strong for 44 years.
