Singapore - another night on the Singapore River

Way too much hopping around for my first week back in Asia.  But it seemed to be the only way it all worked.
A Friday night with friends in Singapore before I head back for Saturday with friends in Hong Kong is a good start to the weekend.

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia - Another quick stop

I need more time here.
Always enjoy the experience and realize there is so much more to explore and enjoy.
Hopefully a long weekend stay one day soon.

Singapore - A quiet spot in the center of the city

I came in for one night and something was going in Singapore.  The hotels were all booked and those that were left had very hefty price tags for the night.
Ran across a hotel in the center that sounded great.  And it proved to be as lovely as it was described.
Fort Canning is where the British Military built their base when they occupied Singapore.  It is a hill that comes off the water.
The hotel is one of the old Army buildings that has been converted.  With many great additions.
Would certainly choose to stay here again.

Hong Kong - 1 month and the protests continue on

I was over in Causeway Bay and caught one of the streets they have partially closed down there.  Will  head over to the main site on the weekend.

Minneapolis MN - A great October to be in town

It was a great October to be around the Twin Cities.  The weather was warm to even hot some days.  Just finished an event at the Guthrie with people from all over the world - one of them reminded me that he got to see his first snow last year while he was here......
And had a great evening at First Avenue as well - been awhile since I have hung around there for a night.

Saint Paul/Minneapolis MN - One more bike ride

The weather cooperated and we got another reasonable Saturday to get out for another ride.
Small crew and cloudy but we made another swing around the metro and they even had the budapest muffins when we stopped today!

Qifan is settling in.
Clemens is already talking about life after Mac
Long is way to busy and caught up in classes for the term.
And Petar is grooving just fine with his new job.
All is well with Team Mac for October.

Saint Paul/Minneapolis MN - Bike Ride with the Group

A very cool and crisp start but great fun to get together with a few of the bike group.  The sun warmed things up quickly and made for a great ride.
The colors and magnificent this year and continue to hang on much longer than you would expect.
A great 25 miles around Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Nisswa MN - Grand View Lodge Year 4

We had great weather for our 4 days at Grand View Lodge for the Company Rendezvous.
Always a great place to spend time.
After the heat and humidity of Asia walking out to a cool crisp morning is a true pleasure.

Hong Kong - the protests continue.....and life goes on

A quick trip back to HK before heading off to the Twin Cities.
Arrived in to the City in the midst of one huge storm - WOW!  This one didn't even had a rating as near as I could tell.
Needless to say the taxi lines were long.  I had been debating whether I could get a taxi up the hill or if I would have to ride the escalators.  The rain made that decision for me.
There was a sign at the apartment about taxis, buses even the laundry all being off schedule and possibly unavailable.  So this morning I just wandered down the hill instead of even giving it a try - good to get some exercise before the long flights and just means I start the day a sweaty mess after a shower minutes before.
Lots of conversation about the local activities but otherwise life is about the same in my neighborhood right now.

Bangkok Thailand - A new neighborhood

Moved myself down the road a bit this trip.
Found a new hotel and for the price had to check it out.
Still very convenient to most everything I had on the schedule, and a great place to stay in a fun neighborhood.  But that seems to be true of everywhere I have been in Bangkok.
Few big storms blew in and out but otherwise another successful trip
