Saint Paul MN - Clemens is back in town

A great surprise this week when Clemens reached out and said he was in town for a conference.  Found a time to hang out and catch up - PHD, full professorship in Kansas and a married man!  And more.  Lots and lots of news.   

MInneapolis MN - Lovely fall evening

 

After ongoing summer like weather fall dropped right in.  And the leaves are finally turning.  

Great night in in Minneapolis overlooking the Mississippi and taking in a show.  

Saint Paul MN - An abundance of albino squirrels

 

As a diversion while I walk, I keep an eye on the squirrels - they are everywhere.  In my neighborhood greys are easy, blacks follow and then if you are in the right spot you find the brown/red.  And on those rare occasions you spot an albino squirrel - a grand slam day!  See a few over a a season.  

This past month I have run across 5 albinos - all in different neighborhoods.  And yesterday I saw one and then another 2 houses down the road.  

So been a great year - and still some time left before the settles on in.   

Rochester MN - Hanging with long time friends

 

Our second gathering this year - remembered to capture it this time.   These two go back to the early 70s as the start of our friendship.  

Had to get around three multi-car accidents to get home - but starting to seem some colors in the Twin Cities.  Seems to arrive a bit later each year.   

Saint Paul MN - Overflow and more

 

Mayor forum tonight down the street so I wandered down.  The chairs were full the wall were full and all the space in between - lots of interest in the upcoming November election.   

Granite Falls MN - One more day of Meandering

Next day we wandered off to Granite before heading back to the Cities.  Another hot and windy one - 90F once again.  

 

Clarkfield MN - Harvest time

 

While we roamed the countryside enjoying the day, Byron, Kenny and Ben were busy bringing in the beans and corn for the season.  

The boys jumped in for a ride when they showed up and Maura hopped in with Kenny to have the combine experience.   

Watson MN - Hunting for more hidden treasures

One last stop for the day in Watson.  Hot, sweaty and tired but we meandered and spent a bit more.

Last year we arrived in time for the parade.  This year we just had to put up with the 90F temps.

Can't miss a photo opportunity with a fish - Minnesota thing to do.  Lutefisk Capital no less.   

Canby MN - New stop on our yearly Meander

 

Back to Western Minnesota for our yearly Meander with Betty.  Added Maura and Jodie to the crew this year.  

They added Canby to the list so we started off there - and it didn't disappoint.  

Saint Paul MN - Hanging with Lynn

 

Big night out in Saint Paul with my longterm friend Lynn.  We live at opposite ends of the City but don't hang out often enough.  We met in the middle and had a great night out.   

I have been to the Palace for after work events and now for a concert - great venue.  And Jon Batiste.
