We left the walled city and moved in to another part of Harar. The highlight of the day was stopping at a typical local spot in the neighborhood where Dawit's extended family lives. This was Diti's neighborhood and another brother joined us as well.
And we had several others that knew Dawit and his cousins stop by and say hello - we probably could have spent the rest of the day there meeting people they all knew.
We wandered down the hill a bit and went to his Aunt's home and had coffee/tea and shiro. Another brother and some wives dropped in as well. So much fun to meet them all and engage and share pics and stories of his Minnesota time.
