Saint Paul MN - State Fair time with Maura and Bill

 

We got a perfect weather day to hang at the Minnesota State Fair.  So many years ago Margie and Maura invited me along and Bill decided to jump in some time after that and now it is a yearly day of fun.   

Stillwater MN - Kendall comes to town

 

Lauren, Joel and Kendall came for weekend at the lake.  They got perfect weather - warm without much humidity and cool evenings.   

And a few days later another day on the river near downtown Stillwater with the Esters.  

Saint Paul MN - Beautiful summer day

 

So much heat and humidity this year - and very little rain.  Today was a start in the break of the humidity for a few days.  Seems like the turkeys were all in on the improved weather - they were everywhere I wandered this AM. 

Even ran in to a whole crew of turkeys crossing the road on my way to Stillwater later in the day.  Their kind of weather it seems.  

New York NY - A quick in and out

 

The usual hot August heat and humidity for a quick in and out trip.  Great trip but always interesting when you are in NYC in August - got out before the tornadoes hit later in the day.  You never know, I remember being there in the heat of the summer years ago and we had streets full of rain one morning and later that day a huge street explosion - close enough to 9-11 that it was worrying for a few hours.   

Minneapolis MN - Out occasional surprise visitor shows up again

 

Monday morning usually includes a walk around Nokomis and then coffee at the local just up the hill from the lake with Greg.  And from time to time my buddy Bev, now a friend of Greg as well, is there after a swim and honing her writing skills.  She caught up with us again today.  

Saint Paul MN - Cheikh back in Minnesota

 

Cheikh came in to Minnesota for a few days over the weekend.  Included a trip to Echo MN - so much corn and beans.  A few of us gathered for a bbq on Sunday evening and laughed and got all caught up - and back to Boston on Monday.

Saint Paul MN - Movement forward

 

Been a busier than usual year in the neighborhood for new construction.  Action up by the soccer stadium, a new building at Mac, a new building with living above it at Victoria Crossing and ongoing expansion at Highland Bridge.  

Nice to see more yeses than nos related to moving forward in STP.

New summer thing this year with several music nights along Grand Avenue at Mac.  Finally, was home on the right night to take it in.
