Addis Ababa Ethiopia - Holy Trinity Cathedral trek

Met up and got a game plan for the next several days organized - two morons with credit cards!  We had a couple redo's to get it all right.

And then we were off.  We set walking up the hill, aka side of the mountain that Addis sits on, towards Trinity Cathedral.  An Orthodox Cathedral.

It was a great wander up.  It took us by the palace, PM's residence and lots of other government, University and unique buildings.

Got a tour by an unusual monk of the Cathedral and then wandered further up for lunch and a stop to see "Lucy" at the National Museum.  I got a whole lot more educated about lots of things including Ethiopia.

Started our trek down and we somehow achieved getting back to my spot before the daily rain set in.

Addis Ababa Ethiopia - The next adventure begins

Arrived in the later evening and Dawit and a couple buddies were my welcoming committee - met me in the parking lot.

A bit of rain coming down and a car that wouldn't start to kick things off.  "Welcome to Africa" Dawit has been saying since my flight snafu in the front end.

Addis has about 10 million people and 110 million throughout the country.  A country 1.5 times the size of Texas.

Settled in and ready to get the next leg of the African adventure going.

Gaborone Botswana - Send off and the world cup

Liping hosted us for a home made Chinese dinner and a sleep over.  The night included a 9PM start to a semi-final world cup match.

And I had another great send off committee at the airport the next day.

Gaborone Botswana - Mia does the National Museum

We got back to Gaborone and had an Indian Dinner nigh out hosted by Liping's husband.

Next day after lunch we checked out the National Museum - convinced Mia to join us.

Botswana is about the size of Texas with just 2.5 million people.  Africa is one big place.

Danny and I finished off with a few more stops before nearing the end of the trip and took in the view from the tallest building.
