Big Sur CA - Driving Highway 1....they always say you should do it at least once

I knew I had to get through some part of the winding roads before dark so I got off.  I stopped several times along the way but eventually got "vista overload" to be honest.  Another new adventure in winding mountain roads.  Each one has sure been different and memorable in their own way.

Amazing that once you get in the Big Sur Area the trees and everything else become big, beautiful and lush.  Great drive as they all say.

Although it is called Highway 1 it is not a fast moving road.  Every mile includes at least one if not several 15, 25, or 35 mph curves.  Got where I wanted to get and got to stop as often as I chose as well - so a perfect drive day.

I have been seeing Elk Crossing Signs for most of my trip and finally late in the day I came across this large group of Elks - I think a farm but enjoyed taking them in.  Better than in the middle of a winding road......
