Sydney Australia - always a great walk across the bridge on a beautiful day

Ended up having lunch in a spot that used to be a bank we dealt with when I lived in Australia - oh so long ago.  Great to hang out in North Sydney.  Good to see the location being put to good use - and probably a better restaurant spot than bank spot.
Had a gap between meetings and it was a great day so walked back to the other side of the bridge and central Sydney.  Always a great walk and the views are spectacular.  And every time I do that walk I always enjoy it in a new way - experience Sydney totally fresh and always inviting.

Melbourne Australia - Cool and sunny...made for a perfect Sunday

I walked out about 830am from the airport to sunshine and 45F - it felt perfect.  Who needed a jacket.
It was so refreshing to have cool crisp air - so much different than the wall of humidity as I walk out of my apartment or the airport daily in HK.
And I had to wait for my room so headed to the food court next door.  It appears that it is the central stopping point for all those that bike on Sunday - more bike shorts and bikes than you can imagine.
Good chats with people about their rides and it filled the time until I could get in the room - and then get out and enjoy the cool, crisp day.

Hong Kong - A full weather weekend

Once again the rain came down hard.
Some was monsoons, some was typhoons, some was squalls.  No matter what the official title it was always lots and lots of water - and wind.
Fortunately, it all rolls down hill and we are up quite a ways so we just have to figure out how to stay dry and manage the umbrella as best you can - or just get soaked and feel a bit of relief to the ongoing heat and humidity.
And then on Sunday the sun came out once again - and the heat went up and the humidity just hangs around at all times.
You realize how many apartments and therefore maids are in HK every Sunday.  They all have the day off and don't really have anywhere to go - or lots of money to go there so they all congregate in all the public areas in the center of the city.  They are everywhere - and fill the walkways, parks and all sorts of places.  They gather with others from their country, city or just friends they have made here.  It often looks like great fun - but it also leads to many other thoughts and feelings about the state of the world.
You just have to get on with it - sweaty or not.  That is how it all works.  Another hot few to start the week - so we will be ready for more rain soon I have a feeling.

Hong Kong - the sun came out

Wow - I keep forgetting that it has been mostly grey and rainy for most of the time we have been grounded here in HK.
The sun was out today - wow everything looked so new, fresh and lovely.  We could see way off in the mountains.  It was great.
Our office is just across the road from the harbor.  We don't often go there - I chose to head home that direction and walk along the water, enjoy the view and take in a bit of the sun - very hot and humid once it comes out.  But worth it.

Singapore - back once again

A hazy start to the day but another great trip to Singapore.
I am there often enough now I have friends and great partners to enjoy as well.  It often feels like a place I may have lived.  And it is a lovely place - a bit un-Asian but lovely.
Great view - maybe I will get it again without the haze.
