Hit the last day of Sculptures by the Sea on the trail along the ocean between Bondi Beach and Tamara Beach. It was lots of fun and there were lots of us taking advantage of the last day wander.
And some moments the natural surroundings were more breath taking than all the sculptures and art.
There were many, many more enjoying the beaches, the surf and the wonderful day that it was.
I remember when I came to Sydney for my first long stay. A few months in all of a sudden there were purple trees anywhere I looked or wandered - the jacarandas. Amazingly beautiful.
This year my timing was right to enjoy them once again. I also remember on my second tenure I would walk up to work through them and there was a bird that would peck me in the head every morning....as they do here.
It has been ages since I have been over to the fish market - back in my early Sydney days. And this year they opened a new one right next door. A beautiful new location and a very, very popular spot on a Saturday.
Melbourne is nice but I love Sydney. The first trip I ever made I stayed in a great spot. When I returned for what was planned to be a week but became two. And then after a two week break back home I was here for 2 more years. The first six months back for the long stretch I checked back in to the same hotel and didn't have time to get an apartment organized.
I have stayed back in the Quay West a few times since but this time I found an Airbnb in the building and it is like old home week all over again - Perfect location for me. And the views continue to get better and better.
Got out for a new wander and it was cool and foggy. The sun was out and it was heating up nicely by the time I got back to get myself ready to head to Sydney.
Headed in a new direction that I hadn't really thought about wandering anytime before - didn't have enough time to keep going that way. Next time.
