Saint Paul MN - 3 days to remember for sure

Well, we are in day 2 of a 3 - 4 wave of amazing weather.  Yesterday was the snow.  And it never got above zero all day.  Plenty of light snow all over my neighborhood - saying 8 - 11 inches.  Easy to move unlike the mess we got last weekend.

And right now we are in the "best" part of the three days.  Sunny, -10F with -30 wind chills.  Later today the wind comes in and the temperatures will drop further and the snow will pile up in whole new ways.

And hopefully, it is all gone by Saturday evening and Sunday......

Montreal, Toronto and back to MN - reverse weather tracking.....colder at each stop

Before I leave Montreal, it has been about 15 years since I was last here.  But there was a trip almost 50 years ago where we started in Quebec City and then on to Montreal that was part of the beginning of my world travels - an earlier trip to Winnipeg before that.  It was great to think about all of that and take it all in as it has all changed since.

And so on my way home - the snow finally stopped and it all became ice.

Got to the airport in the early AM and back to Toronto before off to Saint Paul - it just got colder and colder at each stop.

A great plan and with the weather it made it an even greater adventure - winter weather is our life when we live up this way. Enjoyed it all for lots of different reasons this time - will sure do it again.

Montreal Quebec CAN - On towards Old Montreal

Kept moving on and wanted to wander a bit through Old Montreal as well - not that I hadn't already seen a whole world of lovely old wonderfulness in the center city and around McGill Uni.

And some time at the Notre Dame Cathredral as well - wow, a very unique space.  And off to other neighborhoods here and there throughout the day/night.

And it just kept snowing and snowing....

Montreal Quebec CAN - Let it snow and let it snow

There was plenty of slush, snow and ice as I made my way to the hotel.  And it just snowed for almost all of my stay.  Not the 24 inches they got just not that far from here but more than enough to muck up a city for awhile - but things still did keep going on.  Another great winter city just ready to keep getting on.

It was definitely a day of work to walk through the snowish mess all day - didn't get as far as I had hoped but got to enjoy the city once again after a 15 year gap.  Have to get back again during the warm weather days - such a lovely spot.
