Once I was not heading to Sydney walked to the end of the airport and my hotel of choice sits right there. Settled in, cleaned up other details related to the non-trip and finally called it a night.
Next day got up and out and wandered off towards Marina Del Ray and Venice Beach - didn't quite get to Venice. And wandered on back. A plan started coming together.
Made it to the LAX airport on my way to Sydney but I hit the current case of airline craziness and as close as I got was the sculpture above the TSA.
Long story but this trip wasn't meant to be. Stay tuned - my bags are packed so......
Wow, still 63F in late October - and many more days to follow. No rain so way too dry. But got out as often as I could throughout the weekend.
Great day - earlier brunch and finished up with happy hour with some of a regular gang. Too many laughs and other great conversation - of course.
Cheikh gave me a bit more time to hang out and enjoy his long weekend together. Niketh was able to join the party as well - along with a few of my friends. And our second day of very nice weather.
Day 2 of over the top wonderful weather - but with lots of wind. We figured it out the wind and hung out and enjoyed the early evening anyway outside.
Finished with dinner and always lots of great conversation both inside and outside before we called it a night.
Out last Macalester fall break gathering....Wow. 20 years coming to an end.
Wow, got a walk in early and then once it hit 70 couldn't not get out on the street and enjoy day even more. Wow again - 76 in late October is heaven on earth in Minnesota.
Enjoyed one of my favorite local rides along the Mississippi over to the lakes in Minneapolis and back home.
Fall break at Mac so Cheikh and I headed out towards Duluth for a day of whatever happened to happen. Other than lunch scheduled with Nancy, Anna and Rhea we just were going to go with the flow and see what the day brought us.
And I am 50% with Rhea so far - good first meeting and a screaming event today - oh well.
We lucked out and got warm and sunny - a gift for sure this time of year in northern Minnesota. Had a great day and took the scenic route home on the Wisconsin side.
Got another great start to the day and as the day went long the temps went down and the wind started to pick up. Not much sun at all so it chilled down a whole lot quicker.
Still a great day - got another great wander in and enjoyed a few other great moments during the day. If you can't find great things to do in Chicago you just aren't looking around at all.
