Collegeville MN - Spring Break - part 2, 3 and 4

 

Next stop on our adventure was the magnificent church at St John's in Collegeville - and the Bible and lastly the pottery studio.  

Hard not to be impressed with the amazing church at St John's.  Followed by some other spots around the campus.  

And the Bible story and experience is something to experience as well.  

Lastly, we wandered around in search of the Pottery Studio.  We ended up having an unexpected "total" experience with a tour, tea and cookies and a whole range great conversations with a very unexpected group of people that all made their way to the Studio.  

Maple Grove MN - Spring Break Day part 1

 

Alex, Cheikh and I headed out for a day trip during spring break.  

First stop was the Minnesota Hindu Temple in Maple Grove.  One of those places that you don't believe is sitting in Minnesota.  A few glimpses of what you find inside - the temple area is a no photo zone.  And worth experiencing.  

Red Wing MN/Pepin WI - Road trip day

 

Sunny warm morning that warmed up to almost 60F - our first one of those for 2022.  

Headed towards Red Wing to rendezvous with Greg and then we were off to lunch in Pepin with Lorne and Sonia.  Lovely day and the shelves are once again stocked up with last falls harvest and Sonia's canning efforts.  

Saint Paul MN - Another birthday lunch

 

Another event cancelled over the last couple year - the Jane, Karen and Dennis birthday lunch.  We are all the same age with our birthdays within 30 days of each other.  

We got a great sunny and 50F+ day.  

Not enough time to catch up on two years - will have to do it again soon..........

Minneapolis MN - Driving with Niketh

 

We got some more parking and miles in after work today.  

And then we stopped back in at the 1029 to see what was up.  Niketh had his virgin night at a pull tab guy.  He started slow but got his first investment back in just as many new pull tabs.  He is now in - good for the local charities it supports.  

Saint Paul MN - Waking to a worthy night of snow

 

They suggested a dusting of snow on top of all the ice - but we got a whole lot more than that.  A heavy pile of wet March snow greeted us all in the AM.  

A grey and gloomy day but snow clinging to trees and anything it could stick to.  

Minneapolis MN - Rain, sleet, snow and ice...typical March

 

We woke up to a sheet of ice everywhere.  Warmed up enough as the day went on to melt off and get out and about.  Filled the day with a slippery walk, driving practice with Niketh, a gallery show with old friends and dinner with the sisters.  

And they day is ending with lightning, thunder and a whole lot of rain.  A bigger ice rink everywhere tomorrow for sure.  

Minneapolis MN - Trailhead MSP

 

Since winter and snow always shows up the Trailhead was built as a hub for ski trails, bike trails and just being outside.  Wonderful facility. 

Big weekend ahead with national competition - and we have rain predicted for the weather.  

Work day for me but sure enjoyed exploring the building a bit further and also the opportunity to learn more about all the things sponsored from this location. 

Minneapolis MN - Psycho Suzi's with Niketh

 

Another day on the road getting ready for the driving test.  Great ride. 

Finished up with a stop at Psycho Suzi's - but forgot our ID.  So back to the 1029 across the alley from the apartment.  Still a good end to some road time. 

 

Saint Paul MN - Birthday Dinner NIght

 

Fat Tuesday and finally we were able to find a date to gather and celebrate our 3 mutual birthday.  

Always lots of conversation - often heads down much more interesting paths than one may expect.  And always some good food to make it all the better.   

And we got to recycle the "happy birthday" lights once again - thanks Edie.
