Stillwater MN - Not a great weather week for a party....

We are back in Stillwater once again for the annual birthday dinner.  And Dan was able to join us for the evening as well.
It was quite the week.  We had snow and then a meltdown.  Rain and sleet followed that.  And then it snowed.  And it snowed again.  And we woke up to -30F.  So cold and the roads were a mess.
We lost a few to weather, others to illness and then a few other things came up so a smaller than some of our recent gatherings.  But a hearty bunch and a great fun night.
Alex and Niketh got out for a walk on the frozen lake as well.

Saint Paul MN - Finally, the snow arrives

It seems like everyday this week is a snow storm.
We have not seen much snow so far this winter.  That changed this week and we now have more snow this week than we have seen all winter - and some good sized snows.
And of course, the cold blows in behind it - not as bad as 10 days ago but still nasty for the next couple days.
Its been a winters worth of winter in less than 2 weeks.

Saint Paul MN - Potluck day at Mac

Two day process this year.
Niketh and I took on his project on Friday.  And Alex and I took on his project on Saturday afternoon.
The best review is we had nothing left at the end of the evening - so success!
Niketh and I had a few surprises along the way getting our dessert ready to serve - still trying to figure out what went wrong.  Great taste - but had a few visual issues.
And Nam stepped in to help with the stove work.
And the great day became a slippery mess as we left to wander home for me and off to who knows what for a Mac guy on a Saturday night.

Saint Paul MN - And then it felt like March

The warm up has arrived.  None too soon - wow.  We survived another ugly stretch of weather.
Today it was dripping all over.
Finally, got back out with our walking gang and finished it off with music with our coffee - full service here today.

Rochester MN - Mayo Day

Spent most of a day wandering from place to place at Mayo.
The place is its own art gallery.  Always great fun to go to a new location or on this trip to one of the "old Mayo" floors - and the big beautiful murals.

Minneapolis/Saint Paul MN - In the midst of record cold wave

In the midst of a record cold wave and temps.  Going to be below 0F from about 11PM Monday until Friday AM.
At the moment, we are sitting at -22F with a -50F windchill - and the wind just keeps blowing.
Was a great sunny day and has turned out to be a bit of an eerie evening.
I took advantage of our skyway system to get out and wander around and even appreciate the skyway areas without heat - much, much better than being outside.

Saint Paul MN - The birthday dinner

Annual tradition of gathering with Jim and Mike to celebrate our birthdays happened once again.
Certainly the nicest night of the last few and the nicest of the next week as well - timed things well.
Always lots of conversation and good laughs.

Saint Paul MN - Mac Dinner and Niketh's Birthday

A cold night and a full lunar eclipse for dinner with the Mac guys before the next term begins.  And it was Niketh's birthday weekend as well.
