New York, New York - Dawit Graduation Day 2

Today's event didn't start until 3:30 - so we were well in the the 90+ time of the day.  It was held in the same courtyard - but only 750 graduates for this part.
Fortunately they had tents for us to sit under - not sure anyone would have lasted, including the graduates, without the overhead today.  Plenty of water provided as well - total scorcher.
Reception and dinner with friends all followed - was great to get to the AC of the restaurant.
Another great day of celebrating Dawit's big accomplishment - and he has some potential job opportunities in the mix as well!!!

New York, New York - Dawit Graduation Day One

Beautiful sunny day for a graduation - but it was also 85+ in the NYC sun.
It was quite something to experience a Columbia Graduation ceremony.  It is done outside in a huge open courtyard with many small courtyards connected to it.
You need tickets and when I arrived the line was still about a 3 block walk to get in.
I chose shade from the start.  I found spot at table for 6 with visuals on 2 large screen tv's - everyone is watching from a tv somewhere - it is that big of crowd.
As the event progressed through its three hours of activities our shaded area got more and more crowded.
When I finally wandered towards the front after the event to meet up with Dawit and friends I found out how hot it really was - we were happy as could be in the shaded corner.
Great lunch at Dawit's local African Restaurant and then off to rest up for Day 2 of the graduation activities - and an even hotter afternoon.

Twin Cities MN - perfect weekend WOW

Got back to a picture perfect weather weekend.  Any other year we would have been hosting a graduation party for anther Mac Graduate but this was a year off.
Graduation was outside which is always lovely and the neighborhood was hopping.
Got in 2 bike rides and a Mother's Day BBQ in.  The weather couldn't be better - WOW.

Tokyo Japan - Warm, sunny and humid Friday

Had a bit of time before I head to the airport for the trip back home.
So hit the streets and wandered in another direction to see what I may find along the way.

Beautiful 80F day - lots of sun and humidity.  No wind today.
