Stillwater MN - Another year another birthday dinner at Margie and Jimbo's - and Dan showed up!

I can think of many years that we drove home from the birthday in the snow, the ice and even the very very cold and windy but don't believe we have ever driven home in the rain.
Beautiful day for February and much better weather for a February Birthday Dinner.
Big turn out this year - even Dan joined us so I didn't have to celebrate alone - it all started small 27 years ago and survived him growing up and me hopping from continent to continent.
Another great night had by all.

Minneapolis MN - Crazy weather week

Woke up to 1F for my birthday on Wednesday morning.  And on Friday it was 40+F by lunch time.  Instead of my usual walk through the skyway over lunch I went for the river walk to enjoy the sunshine and the warmth of the day.
Expecting much the same for the weekend.

Saint Paul MN - Macalester Potluck year 13

Another successful Mac Potluck in the books.
This year it was Congee with Thousand Year Old Eggs and Egg Rolls.  We even got extra help to make sure the egg rolls were a success.
Good year for Kristijan to be on the boat - lots and lots of cilantro in our dishes today.
We had a lucky table and three of us won prizes at Bingo - and I got the pleasure of having 200+ people sing Happy Birthday to me.  The celebrating has now officially begun.

Tokyo Japan - another lucky winter week

Back again and it was 55F and sunny as I was leaving today.  Some windy and cooler days as well but always sunny.  After a very grey and gloomy January in Minnesota this was a great break.
Solid, busy week - with a few laughs along the way.

Minneapolis MN - Walking the Skyways

When I am in the office I try to walk during lunch.  During the good weather months I can wander the streets of downtown or along the river.
But at this time of the year I am skyway bound - and one thing I can confirm from miles and miles every week is you never know what you may see as you wander.

Another year - another great night.
So glad Greg and I decided we should gather for dinner on NYE instead of just sitting in at home.  It started small and has grown to a new adventure every year - some quiet, some loud and some shouldn't be talked about.
We filled the 12 chairs again - it just came over time but good fun, great conversation and too much food to make it all work.
