Singapore - A couple different walks

An evening walk home after my last meeting on Friday before the sun set and out and about on a Saturday seeing what else there is to see in another direction.
I had a great understanding during a conversation yesterday.  A Singaporan saying it is a "cool 95F" is like a Minnesotan saying it is a "warm -20F".  They both make sense if you live there long enough.

Hong Kong - Des Voeux Road

This is the road that my office is on.
The only thing in this picture that looks and feels like Des Voeux Road anywhere in Hong Kong is the two tram lines that go from end to end.
Otherwise - WOW - a very different time and place.....

Singapore - Chinese New Year SIN Style

Same cloud cover here in Singapore for my arrival.  Not much sun in Asia lately it seems.
And definitely much warmer when you get here - 34C, a nice humid 95.
Almost the end of all the CNY festivities.  Expect they will be taking things down before I hit the road on Saturday.

Hong Kong - back to the grey days of winter/spring

The grey skies have not cleared out while I was gone.  No rain but just gloomy grey skies with fog that settles in from time to time.
Was out wandering today and very near the apartment I noticed this HUGE Church nestled in between a series of towers.  I wandered around until I found the stairs that lead down to the church and the complex that surrounded it.
Turns out it is the Catholic Cathedral Complex - Church, Schools, Administration building and hotel.
And then off I went and the Chinese New Year celebrations continue.

Tokyo Japan - Wandering back to the hotel

I finished up on Friday afternoon and chose the walk back to the hotel over the metro system.
It was sunny but the wind came up as a big storm was coming in to the region.  It made for a very windy and cold night.
