Denver has the comfort and ease of the midwest with the great backdrop of the Rockies surrounding it. As the gateway to the west you see all the reminders and some of the early grandeur but it is always fun to walk around the corner and have that great moment of WOW as you see how they integrate it with the present and the boldness it deserves with the mountain vista behind it.
My good buddy Mell has spent many years involved both as a volunteer and professional working with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. We are met professionally and have kept connected through some amazing opportunities and events. A trip that came up let me enjoy half of the Shakespeare experience - the mountains, the campus, Boulder, the picnic on the lawn but will have to get back another year to enjoy the on stage experience...already working that one in the plans. A few touches of Boulder and the beauty that surrounds it.
Cool and crisp, not exactly what you expect in early August but a great evening none the less. Old, or I suppose better put friend I have know for a long long time. We experienced those first couple years of college life together - that which we remember anyway. And that memory has things to do with life both then and being at a new stage now. Bill, an expert, took reins with the camera for most of the evening so we both interesting visuals and focus.
