Hong Kong - Just another Monday

It starts getting darker earlier now.
Hong Kong in daylight and Hong Kong at night feel like two very different places.  Hong Kong definitely likes to turn the lights on - it is bright and flashy.
I wandered home at dusk.  Took an alternative route to get my legs back in the groove of climbing up and down day to day.

Hong Kong - Just another Sunday

A warm and sunny Sunday but a break in the humidity.  Much less sticky here than it was in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur earlier in the week.  A great day to be out.
The streets were full with the maids in all of their usual spots - and more than the usual amount of entertainment and protesting activities by them.
And the protestors are still out and about as well.  Small crowds hanging out on a Sunday but the main drag is still closed.
A new feature to the harbor is a new ferris wheel to take in Victoria Harbour sights.  In most cities this style of ferris wheel is large and rises high in the city - not so in HK.  It is just a small rise in the sky compared to all the buildings surrounding it.

Singapore - another night on the Singapore River

Way too much hopping around for my first week back in Asia.  But it seemed to be the only way it all worked.
A Friday night with friends in Singapore before I head back for Saturday with friends in Hong Kong is a good start to the weekend.

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia - Another quick stop

I need more time here.
Always enjoy the experience and realize there is so much more to explore and enjoy.
Hopefully a long weekend stay one day soon.

Singapore - A quiet spot in the center of the city

I came in for one night and something was going in Singapore.  The hotels were all booked and those that were left had very hefty price tags for the night.
Ran across a hotel in the center that sounded great.  And it proved to be as lovely as it was described.
Fort Canning is where the British Military built their base when they occupied Singapore.  It is a hill that comes off the water.
The hotel is one of the old Army buildings that has been converted.  With many great additions.
Would certainly choose to stay here again.

Hong Kong - 1 month and the protests continue on

I was over in Causeway Bay and caught one of the streets they have partially closed down there.  Will  head over to the main site on the weekend.

Minneapolis MN - A great October to be in town

It was a great October to be around the Twin Cities.  The weather was warm to even hot some days.  Just finished an event at the Guthrie with people from all over the world - one of them reminded me that he got to see his first snow last year while he was here......
And had a great evening at First Avenue as well - been awhile since I have hung around there for a night.

Saint Paul/Minneapolis MN - One more bike ride

The weather cooperated and we got another reasonable Saturday to get out for another ride.
Small crew and cloudy but we made another swing around the metro and they even had the budapest muffins when we stopped today!
