Got delayed a day getting home since my date fell in the middle of a 3 day storm. No issues on the return and back to 13+ new inches of snow. We wake up to -11F before the windchill in the AM and then work on another warm up. Gotta love February.
My flight got moved to a different flight and then that got cancelled as well. Have another option booked - will see. 86 and sunny so no complaining going on here.
Last planned day in Florida - unless the snow storm zooming through the Midwest keeps me around for some additional time.
Great last day so far - expect a great enjoyable evening as well.
Caught the ferry up to Marco Island at 5PM. Got to enjoy a great ride and wonderful sunset over our 3 hour trek.
And when I arrived at Ed's - Nancy, Anna and Rhea had made their way from MN to enjoy a few warm days as well.
I can officially say I have been to the "Keys" after my bike ride today. Rented a bike and headed off on Highway 1 towards Miami....got about 10 miles down the road and it was the first time the bike path stopped I would have had to ride on the highway shoulder - not an option.
Got my first 24 miles in for 2023 and lots of great views along the way. And not really a bike designed for a long ride so expect I will remember it my legs in the AM.
I am back again. Despite the long day of travel, glad to be back. I like it here. I realized as I wandered around today that it reminds me in a small way of beach life and towns in Australia. And I am always happy there.
Ran in to a couple from Bemidji so MN week in FL once again. And a few other fun folks to chat with besides some friends that got me to hop over here.
