Hong Kong - a new spot of quiet beauty and serenity in the heart of the chaos
I needed a new destination to get out and about on Sunday. I discovered a nunnery and a park just off one of the metro stops. So off I went.
Out I come from under the earth and of course walk right in to the middle of a transit hub and another busy and chaotic mall. I walk outside and of course this is also surrounded by two major roads and two highways that are overhead. Not exactly the peace and serenity I had anticipated.
I cross the street and that is the entrance to the park - and immediately all is good with the world - calm, peace, beauty.
It was a great spot. Filled with well trimmed and perfectly place trees, flowers and bushes - and lovely rock formations.
The park also featured many displays on Chinese architecture, rocks and life.
Then I wandered up and over one of the major thoroughfare and I entered the nunnery and the shrines - the ultimate in calm and serenity. No pics allowed but a very interesting place and history.
