Highlands NJ - Celebrating Christopher

Headed out to the Jersey Shore to celebrate Chris' high school graduation - a worthy accomplishment.

The world made it challenging.  Expected to arrive for an evening bbq and due to weather and therfore flight delays we arrived at 130AM.  A bit of a delay on the way home, but a great weekend was still had and Chris duly celebrated.

We walked up the highest peak on the eastern seaboard of the USA, swung clubs and bats - even threw balls at milk bottles and balloons.  Treats at Grace's and Long got to play pinball on a real pinball machine for the first time.  And Neil got to show off his 45 record collection as well.

Green Bay Wisconsin - Saw the shrine but much more to take in

I finished my northern trek at Green Bay.  Had to stop by the shrine to football but then headed to the downtown area for a wander.  Got to enjoy a great festival in the parking lot of one of the churches.

The county building is a beautiful structure.  Once I started walking there was church after church after church - mostly across the street from each other or just down the block.  They were all circling the county building in the center.  Always amazing how much money has gone to churches around the world - big, fabulous ones very often.

Got to enjoy a great festival in the parking lot of one of the churches.

Sheboygan Wisconsin - What a great surprise

As I was thinking about my path back towards the Twin Cities I was looking at an alternative to the usual interstate that I know like the back of my hand.

Settled on a trip straight north and was hopeful it would be along Lake Michigan - not the case, but still a great drive.  Did get glimpses of the lake from time to time.

Took the exit for Sheboygan and had no ideas or expectations and found it to be one very lovely spot.  Plenty of history but lots new and a very fresh, clean feeling city.

May have to find a reason to make my way back again for a longer stay.
